Although it's no secret that I'm a huge Mac advocate, I have to admit that I'm really impressed with this. I have seen and run Gutsy with Compiz on my massive notebook, but it's great that it's working on these new Eee PCs.

Parthenon...
in Nashville... Who would have thought. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parthenon_(Nashville)). Nashville seems like a pretty cool town. Vanderbilt has the most amazing facilities and the computer system there is amazing. I definitely think it will make it higher up on my list.

Snow everywhere
I flew from Seattle to Birmingham on Wednesday with a short layover in Chicago. I took this picture a couple of hours out of Seattle and there was continuous snow/ice the rest of the way to Chicago. I haven't seen snow in so long I had kind of forgotten what it looks like.
My interview a UAB was really nice, and the program seems great. But I'm not sure how much I would like living in Birmingham. Now I'm in Nashville for my interview tomorrow. These interviews are really starting to wear on me, but one thing that I'm definitely not getting tired of is all of the great dinners and free hotel rooms.

Heading out West
Well I left for Seattle today. The flight was pretty uneventful for the most part. Shortly after we left Phoenix, we flew over the Grand Canyon and I got a few decent photos with the iPhone. I'll try to post some pictures from Seattle tomorrow after my interview. Hopefully this rain will die down some so I can go outside...

I'm back
A good friend recently gave me some good advice. I've been doing a lot of traveling lately for residency interviews and have been doing a very poor job of documenting my experiences. So from now on, I'm going to try and keep updates posted to this blog as often as I can. Since I recently acquired a new (old) iBook G4, I'll have a much easier time carrying my notebook with my on planes. I probably wont have much to post for my San Antonio interview on Thursday, but next week I'll be going to Seattle, Birmingham and Nashville, so updates will be coming soon.

Visual proof that Barry Bonds uses steroids
Just look how large his head is now compared to when he played with the Pirates.

2007 Lake LBJ Flood
This is just the partial aftermath of the rain from 6/27 and 6/28. Hopefully the lake will clear up at least a little bit before the 4th of July. Click on the picture to view the whole set.

The power of Wii
This kid has cerebral palsy and is unable to walk or talk. With the Wii, he is able to play baseball with his little sister. Very heartwarming.

Phantom Vibration Syndrome
I knew this existed. I'm not crazy after all. I started noticing these "phantom vibration" symptoms a couple of years ago and have found several other people who experience the same sensations. Very interesting read...

Safari on Windows
With over 500 million downloads of iTunes by Windows users, it's about time that Apple released it's fantastic browser to the PC side. However, people really should just make the switch and get a Mac already.

99 cents
You know what really aggravates me? Prices ending in 99 cents...or even worse, $99. Like when you're at a car dealership and you see the price - $19,999. Like that one dollar under $20,000 makes all the difference in the world. And at fast food places, they always have the 99 cent menu, not the dollar menu. But the worst of all is the 9/10 of a cent at the end of every gallon of gas you purchase. The last time I filled up, I payed $3.999. Just round it up please

iPhone release date confirmed: yours on June 29th
Looks like our source was right: the iPhone is yours come June 29th. The commercial just aired on 60 Minutes, and now you can finally mark your calendar. Check out www.apple.com/iphone/ads for the updated commercials. Looks like it will be just in time for my last round of medical school loans. Putting that money to good use!

Bonfire Memorial
Took this photo about a year ago in College Station. I should be studying for my test right now, but instead, I'm messing around on Flickr. I love the internet.

Finally, a real blog
I've never really gotten into the concept of "blogging". Who really gives a crap about what I have to say. My previous attempts at this have just been me posting links to stories that I read on digg, or somewhere else in the internet realm.
Perhaps I can make a go at doing a real blog now. Or maybe, just maybe I'm just doing this now to delay the inevitable. Yet another thing to let me put off studying for that Family Medicine shelf exam I have next week. Or maybe I'm just bored...
